Herpetological observations in Israel, April 2018

Our second herpetological trip to Israel took place in 2018, from April 20 to 30. Contrary to our first trip (see Frank & Edelman, 2017), this time we limited our searching area mostly to the southern part of Israel, to spend more time finding specific species (mainly reptiles but also invertebrates and other animals) that we missed during our first trip. The last two days of our trip we spent in the northern part of Israel, our attention partly focussed on the African softshell turtle, that you can find there. The results of our searching activities can be found in the table at the end of the article (new finds marked with an asterisk). We thank Aviad Bar for helping us to find specific snake species during a night trip in the dunes of the northwestern part of the Negev Desert.
